Wexford Volunteer Centre came on board with the Amber Women’s Refuge One Million Stars Ireland project in 2023. Working alongside Wexford Women’s Refuge we held workshops with TY Students in Loreto Wexford were they completed over 400 stars in the space of a week! At the end of 2023 we held star weaving workshops with a Ukrainian Women’s Group, SETU Wexford and Wexford Waterford ETB.

From January to July 2024, Wexford Volunteer Centre has woven over 25,000 stars as part of the Amber Women’s Refuge One Million Stars Ireland project. Our dedicated team has also delivered more than 80 workshops, highlighting the importance of the project and teaching star weaving techniques. These workshops were held across a variety of venues, including the Wexford Volunteer Centre, secondary schools, early school leaver facilities, disability services, international protection centres, community centres, and Men’s and Women’s Sheds. We’ve also engaged with numerous individuals and community groups. The response has been incredible, and we’re on track to reach our goal of 32,000 stars by the end of 2024!
